Project and Change Management for Implementation of IT Service Management

Company
PHOENIX group ist one of the leading pharmaceutical traders in Europe. The group is active with more than 28,500 employees and more than 150 distribution centers and 1500 pharmacies. The group provides services across the whole supply chain that benefits drug manufacturers, pharmacies and patients. PHOENIX group IT GmbH is the IT subsidiary of Phoenix group with the main sites in Mannheim and Nürnberg/Fürth in Germany.

Project
The PHOENIX group IT GmbH is currently undertaking a multi-year, pan-European IT transformation. This includes an outtasking project, a pan-European standardization and consolidation of IT infrastructure and the implementation of IT service management and ITIL-based processes.


My Assignment
Project and Change Manager

Major Tasks
The focus of the project managed by Conversio was the organizational implementation of IT service management within PHOENIX group IT GmbH including conceptual design and implementation of

  • a service manager role and its interfaces for IT infrastructure and operations,
  • a new IT support organization
  • ITIL-based IT processes and
  • coaching and change trainings for team leaders and employees.

The project was started in spring 2013 and finished in May 2014 successfully and in time.
 

Management of a Postmerger Integration

Company
Atos SE is an international information technology services company with 2013 annual revenue of € 8.6 billion and 76,300 employees in 52 countries. Serving global clients, it delivers consulting and system integration services, managed operations and transactional services. The German Atos companies have currently appr. 9000 employees, Munich and Essen are the major sites in Germany.

Project

After announcing the acquisition of Siemens Integration Systems und Services GmbH (SIS) in December 2010 Atos started the postmerger integration of the SIS companies in Germany and globally on 1st July, 2011. In Germany the organizational integration was completed in April 2012.

My Assignment
Project Manager of the postmerger integration in Germany.

Major Tasks
Implementation of a global organizational blueprint within all Atos subsidiaries in Germany consisting of

  • a new structural organization
  • changed business processes and roles
  • the transfer of all employees to the new organization and their roles


The implementation of the new structural organization and the transfer of the employees was completed in time on 31st December 2011. The implementation of the business processes changes and the new roles took another six months.

In Charge of Culture Change

Company
Atos SE is an international information technology services company with 2013 annual revenue of € 8.6 billion and 76,300 employees in 52 countries. The German Atos companies have currently appr. 9000 employees, Munich and Essen are the major sites in Germany.


Project
Based on the results of an employee satisfaction survey the German Senior Management decided to set up a program for culture change and improvement of employee satisfaction. The program kick-off took place in February 2012 and the program is ongoing till today.

My Assignment
Director Integration and Change in charge of conceptual design and implementation of the program.


Major Tasks
Conceptual design and implementation of a cultural change program with more than 40 activities in the following core areas: Leadership, personnel development, recognition and reward, working conditions, openess and transparency. Initiation of a change agents network

The project team succeeded to „recruit“ more than 100 Atos colleagues for the change agents network which implemented lots of change activities in a joint approach with the different Atos departments. 

Crisis Management for a major Bank

Company
A major bank in Germany whose IT department had been outsourced to Atos


Project
To enable the bank to operate witholding tax introduced on 1st January 2009 in Germany a large Atos team implemented software modifications and enhancements in the customer’s host-based software environment. This was done under strong time pressure and beginning of 2009 after go-live it became obvious that there was a need for improvement.


My Assignment
Senior Project Manager and Crisis Manager

Major Tasks
It was the major goal of the project to improve the software quality on short notice and to re-strengthen the customer’s confidence in Atos as the service provider.

The following measures were taken: 

  • Standardisation and optimization of the software change process
  • Increase of the number of software engineers and implementation of a clear separation of developers and test team
  • Introduction of a tight and proper project management
  • Implementation of a regular weekly progress reporting to the customer

The major goals were achieved within 6 months.

IT Strategy Development and Implementation for a European Building Supplier

Company
A medium-sized building supplier with 20 sales and production sites in Europe.

Project
Development and implementation of an up-to-date IT strategy including standardization and harmonization of the existing IT landscape, implementing and integrating new application software and infrastructure where required.


My Assignment
IT Director Europe in charge of the project


Major Tasks

  • Harmonisation of the ERP software implemented in the different sites,
  • Set-up and implementation of a groupwide Active Directory,
  • Comprehensive implementation of Microsoft products (Exchange, MS-Sharepoint etc.),
  • Implementation of a groupwide harmonized sales and production reporting (BI),
  • Introduction of CRM software in the major sites.
